Class A power section with an oversized output transformer and a 6550 power tube outputs 20 watts. The 6550 isn't a common power tube for tweed-style amps but we love it in this circuitry, with its glassier, harder sound giving this amp a kind of tweed meets blackface vibe.
The 5E2 circuit features a choke and overdrives more smoothly than the more common 5F2-A circuit, which has no choke.
